What this year?

Carrying out the event

Once again the Truth event will be carried out by voluntary efforts, and thus the scope of the event depends to a great deal on the initiative and activity of Christian volunteers. We will concentrate our main efforts on arranging free services, through which we’d like to show unselfish love to people living and passing through Oulu. This year we’ll be doing without huge stages and performers outside the Oulu region, as this will make arrangements easier and reduce the expenses of the event.

Budget

This year’s Truth event will be carried out by a lighter budget than in previous years. We’ve agreed in the planning meetings that have been held thus far to manage the budget as a matching principle, that is the expenses cannot exceed the revenue and resources available. The monetary transactions necessary to cover the event expenses will be done through a jointly agreed and monitored bank account according to the guidelines for cooperation of the E4 Network, moment no. 5. Leaders or authorised representatives of participating congregations may request and receive a statement of balance concerning the event’s monetary transactions. It was also agreed to arrange fund-raising via the E4 Network.

Getting organised

The Truth event is a coordinated activity of the Oulu Region E4 Network. E 4 is a national Christian network in Finland, spread out locally to many regions and cities, including Oulu. The Truth event’s activities are led by Christian persons who are dedicated to a certain area of responsibility, and these persons are nominated at planning meetings that are open to everyone. The persons who are nominated to take the responsibility of leading activities in certain areas must enjoy public confidence of their own congregation. In all possible cooperation relating to the Truth event we decided to comply with the guidelines for cooperation of the E4 Network, and these have to be followed by every participating congregation and indivudal Christian volunteer. How to particpate in the Truth event as a congregation or Christian community?

1) Starting to become a cooperation partner and blessing the event
2) Disseminating information about the Truth event in your own community and encouraging its members to joint the event’s planning and arrangements
3) Investing financially into the event and donating an appropriate amount of money to cover the costs of the event, see fund-raising
4) Providing your community’s resources, for example facilities, equipment, means of communication and information services etc.

How to participate in the Truth event as an individual Christian?

1) Praying for the event in its entirety
2) Taking part in the planning meetings and sharing your own ideas for the event
3) Signing up and volunteering for certain free services or tasks pertaining to the event
4) Donating an appropriate amount of money to cover the costs of the event, see fund-raising.

We’d like to build up the unity of Christians based on principles of the Word of God via the Oulu Region E4 Network, thereby spreading the message of Jesus Christ and working for the best of this city and every congregation. These aims will be at the centre of attention in this year’s Truth event’s planning and arrangements.

We invite every congregation, Christian community and individual Christian in Oulu to come along to carry out the Truth event and to fulfill together Jesus’ Great Commission and missionary task given to us.
